We are looking for a director of business development with experience in business, in the entertainment industry a plus. The individual will be responsible for establishing, negotiating and developing business relationships to help grow overall revenue, sponsorships/endorsements, and brand recognition in general. The Director of Business Development will serve as a producer of Out Impact Productions and part of the strategic partnerships team, focused mainly on sourcing, evaluating, negotiating and executing relationships involving the OIP brand and our clients, and  to help grow the company’s revenue as well as carrying out discussions related to strategic partnerships as prioritized by management.  The role will include responsibility over identifying potential partners, initiating conversations, due diligence activities for target partners, analyzing revenue potential and strategic merits of an opportunity, negotiating agreements and working with internal departments to bring deals to a conclusion.  The Director will be a key team member in support of OIP’s overall goals.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Manage all new business research, outreach, and potential partnerships
  • Work collaboratively with a cross-functional team
  • Work with outside counterparties as appropriate
  • Structure a process to efficiently analyze and streamline potential partners
  • Identify potential business opportunities in sports, entertainment and more and meet with business partners to evaluate those opportunities and drive them towards execution
  • Seek partnerships that expand business and promotional opportunities, and create incremental revenue
  • Perform quantitative analysis of potential deals
  • Research digital industry trends and competitors
  • Create sales support materials
  • Collaborate with President on marketing and sales to ensure brand compliance and generate cross-company value and promotion
  • Manage key industry and partner relationships to foster collaboration and create new opportunities
  • Provide analytical support for new ventures

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Experience evaluating websites/digital properties, including in depth knowledge of Google Analytics
  • Strong analytical approach to problem solving
  • Team and project management skills, including ability to handle multiple concurrent projects – must be responsible for generating reporting to team
  • Must be comfortable multi-tasking – from speaking with casting directors to working with directors of marketing of retail companies, and more
  • Strong problem solving and conceptual thinking skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • A love of sports-entertainment and a sense of humor a plus

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Marketing)
  • 3-4 years experience in business development
  • A positive attitude & hard work ethic
  • Working in the entertainment or sports industries a plus
  • Preference is given to those in the NYC area – but is open to be a virtual position for the right candidate

Compensation & Trial Period:

There will be a 90 day trial period  – we believe this is important for both you and us to evaluate progress and if it’s the right fit for both of us.

Compensation – since we are a start-up organization, compensation is based on percentages.  As we grow, this will become a salary position.
